శ్రీమద్భాగవతం అష్టమ స్కంధంలోని ఈ ఘట్టం, పాలసముద్రం మధ్యన సువర్ణ శిఖరాలతో, దివ్యారణ్యాలతో, నదులతో విరాజిల్లే మహోన్నతమైన త్రికూట పర్వతాన్ని అద్భుతంగా వర్ణిస్తుంది. ఆ పర్వత పాదాల వద్ద కలువపూలతో, పక్షిగానాలతో సుగంధభరితమైన ఒక విశాలమైన సరోవరం విలసిల్లుతూ ఉంటుంది. గజేంద్రుడు తన మందతో కలిసి ఆ సరోవరంలో ప్రవేశించి జలక్రీడలలో మునిగి, తనకు ముంచుకొస్తున్న మహాసంకటాన్ని గుర్తించకుండా ఆనందంగా విహరిస్తాడు.
This episode from Canto 8 of the Srimad Bhagavatham describes the magnificent Trikuta Mountain, a golden peak rising from the ocean of milk, adorned with forests, rivers, and celestial gardens that captivate all who behold it. At the foot of this sacred mountain lies a vast and enchanting lake, fragrant with lotus blossoms and filled with the songs of birds and the play of divine beings. The mighty elephant king Gajendra, surrounded by his herd, enters this beautiful lake to drink and revel in its cool, refreshing waters, unaware of the great trial that awaits him.
