After Trivikrama covers all three worlds with two steps, Bali humbly offers his head for the third step, declaring he fears disgrace more than hell or bondage. Prahlada and Vindhyavali praise the Lord's grace, recognizing that all possessions and even the body belong to God alone. The Lord explains that He removes wealth from those He wishes to bless, as prosperity breeds ego and delusion. Bali is rewarded with rulership of Sutala, with the Lord Himself standing as his doorkeeper. The deeper teaching is that Vamana's three steps symbolize removing attachment to worldly things, heavenly things, and bodily ego—mirroring the Gita's call to offer all actions to God.
