In this sacred episode of Srimad Bhagavatham, we explore the majestic departure of the Pandavas as they renounce their kingdom and embark on their final journey of Mahaprasthanam, surrendering all earthly attachments at the feet of the Lord. Having fulfilled their dharmic duties, Yudhishthira and his brothers, accompanied by Draupadi, set forth on the great path toward liberation, leaving behind the world they had so nobly upheld. Before their departure, the wise and virtuous Parikshit — the sole surviving heir of the Pandava lineage and the grandson of Arjuna — is solemnly crowned as the king of Hastinapura, ensuring the continuation of righteous governance. This episode beautifully illustrates the inevitability of renunciation for even the greatest of souls and the divine grace that preserves dharma through each generation.
