In this sacred episode, we explore the pivotal moment when the young son of Rishi Shamika curses King Parikshit to die from a serpent bite within seven days, setting the stage for the entire Bhagavatam. Upon hearing of this curse, the noble King Parikshit renounces his kingdom, retreats to the banks of the Ganga, and resolves to spend his final days in devotion and spiritual inquiry. The great sage Sukadeva Goswami, son of Vyasa, miraculously arrives at the assembly and agrees to narrate the Srimad Bhagavatam to the king, transforming a moment of death into a supreme opportunity for liberation.
