In this episode of the Srimad Bhagavatham podcast, we explore the fearsome personality of Kali, who torments a cow representing Mother Earth and a bull representing Dharma, striking them mercilessly in the absence of a righteous king. The great emperor Parikshit, while on his royal tour, witnesses this cruel act and immediately confronts Kali with his drawn sword, ready to slay him for his adharmic conduct. Moved by Kali's surrender yet unwilling to let unrighteousness roam free, Parikshit wisely banishes Kali to places of vice — gold, gambling, drinking, animal slaughter, and illicit association — demonstrating that true power lies in righteous restraint.
