In this sacred episode of Srimad Bhagavatham Canto 4, we explore the profound tapasya of the ten Pracetas, the sons of King Prachinabarhis, who submerged themselves deep into the ocean to perform intense austerities for ten thousand years. By the grace of the Supreme Lord, they were blessed with a divine encounter with Lord Shiva himself, who appeared before them radiating transcendental splendor. Lord Shiva lovingly bestowed upon them a beautiful and powerful hymn — the celebrated Shiva Gita — glorifying Lord Vishnu as the ultimate refuge and supreme goal of all existence.
