In this illuminating episode from Canto 2 of Srimad Bhagavatham, we explore the sacred Chatushloki — the four foundational verses in which Lord Vishnu reveals the essence of all knowledge to Lord Brahma at the dawn of creation. These verses encapsulate the supreme truth of existence, the nature of the Absolute, and the relationship between the Self and the cosmos. The discussion delves into the distinction between jnana (theoretical knowledge) and vijnana (realized, experiential wisdom), guiding seekers toward a deeper understanding of transcendental reality.

Jai Srimannarayana, salutations to the Asmadgurus. In the creation, preservation, and destruction of the world, by the divine, through the illusion of the self, the illusion of the self, the illusion of the self, the illusion of the self, salutations to the self. By the divine, in the creation, preservation, and destruction of the world, by the self, by illusion Being differentiated in various ways, the one who causes the intellect of self-difference through his influence, again with his influence, removes the illusion, salutations to the Lord of time. Beloved of God, Srimad Bhagavata Tattva Deepika, Second Canto. Welcome to episode 15. Until now, we have experienced the answers given by Shuka to the questions asked by Parikshit, and the things that explained about the nature of God. However, the four shlokas in that Bhagavatam, which was preached by Bhagavan, we call it Chatushloki. We’re about to find out just what the fuss is about. The Bhagavata is the science that was preached by the Lord. It is preached in the form of four stanzas. In one verse, it is said that I am the embodiment of knowledge, and I am the one with the quality of knowledge. I am pervaded by the objects of the world I won't use it if it's not necessary. The Shruti says that knowledge, strength, and action are natural to me, the Shruti says. I do not know clearly what kind of person I am, what form I have, what qualities I have, or what actions I do, you will know. This world, which is the consciousness of the self, is my form. The hardness, the properties, all of them, through them, my qualities shine. The creation, preservation, and destruction of the world are my business. Thus, may the knowledge of the essence, form, qualities, and manifestations be attained through my grace. The second verse: I am briefly explaining my form, listen. I am superior to those who have knowledge, to those who are ignorant, to those who are inert, to those who are inanimate.

I will be there before him. In this universe, all things are included in living beings and in inanimate objects. I'm not a member of either. Before creation, these living and natural elements appeared differently, and they are contained within me. I was alone at that time. In the creation period, before that, keeping the living beings separate, appearing with different forms and names than me. I was in him, and I was in that form. When I am in the form of the universe, I am the one who exists in all the existing things. In the time of destruction, all the substances that are destroyed are my forms, therefore I am withdrawing my form. I am the one who existed before the creation of the world, I am the one who is the form of the world. When everything disappears in the deluge, I am the one who remains, I am the cause, I am the effect. When there is a reason, living beings with consciousness, and the non-conscious nature, without separation, are included within me, therefore, I am alone. As a function, when it is in the form of the world, with conscious beings, without conscious beings Creating many forms of nature, I am in them as the soul and exist in the form of the world. Therefore, before creation, I am the one, I am the form of the world, I am the one who remains in the apocalypse. The third verse: The form of knowledge, the form of the self, and the form of the unmanifest, which is the form of the Purusharthas, shines without any connection. But when one contemplates nature, when one is connected to nature, the self does not appear as it is. The unconscious manifests as the self-manifestation of the Aatman. That is the power of the Supreme Being's illusion, that is, the power of the various forms. When the light of the sun shines, darkness is not visible. When darkness covers, the light is not seen. Similarly, when self-realization is done, when the unconscious nature called Maya shines, the soul, which is the form of consciousness, does not shine. The fourth verse, the last verse. The universe is all that is formed by consciousnesses that exist in this way. I will enter into all those spirits. Nothing is hidden from me in the world.

I am in him, I am not in him. His faults are not mine. I am pervading in all beings, and I am also outside of them. The sky, air, light, and other elements are pervading all physical substances. But they are also visible outside. Even if the physical elements are broken, neither the sky, air, nor light will be destroyed. They don't have any defects. Similarly, I am pervaded by all things, so I do not have any faults. The youthfulness, the virility, etc., that is in the body, do not touch me. Therefore, I have answered the questions you asked. You. You asked how much I would use and the size of my consequence. I am not a child. I have made you aware of my nature. You asked how I am doing. Living beings with consciousness and the unconscious nature are different from each other. But both are appointed to me, as to a body, appointed, to be exercised by me, and for my sake, and are being used. Therefore, you questioned my form, this world, and my qualities. The qualities present in the body, mind, and consciousness, are manifested as my own qualities, which are the essence of my being. Therefore, wherever this universe, whatever righteousness is seen, it belongs to my body, therefore, through him, it will belong to me. You asked what karma I am doing. I am the creator, the preserver, and the destroyer, and I am engaged in all of them, and I am the one who conducts the world's affairs. In this way, I have made you understand all the knowledge that is needed. Thus, the four-faced Brahma, in four verses, erased all the knowledge he had. This is called Chatushloki Bhagavatam. These four verses are part of the Bhagavata. He, having obtained the Lord, the four-faced one, gave instruction to Narada. Narada preached to Vyasa. Vyasa expanded the subject matter in those four shlokas and composed the Bhagavatam of 18000 shlokas.

This proposes all the knowledge about the Lord. Therefore, it is called Bhagavatam. We will learn about the next part in the podcast. Jai Srimannarayana. Salutations to the Guru
